- Recidivism rate for Muslims is only slightly lower than non-Muslims.
Community Reentry Initiative: Objectives
- In-Prison educational program
- Pre-release program that connects local communities and incarcerated Muslims
- Post-release program that services the physical, psychological and spiritual needs of formerly incarcerated Muslims
- Mentoring program
- Half-way House
- Businesses that employ formerly incarcerated Muslims
- Produce Guidelines for Establishing a Community Reentry Program
- Develop 15 community reentry programs: 5 associated with SHARE Centers and 10 that are not associated with SHARE Centers
- Conduct 2 state-wide conferences on establishing community reentry programs.
